Types of Distance Learning Courses: Over the next year, MC Cog Rehab Resources will be expanding our course delivery format to include independent, interactive and blended/hybrid distance learning courses as defined below to meet the needs of our learners who have varied schedules or are in different time zones.
Distance Learning Independent Courses: eLearning courses can be completed asynchronously at one’s own pace. No interaction with instructors is required, however instructors are always available on an as-needed basis to answer questions. All of our Distance Independent Learning Courses include a variety of questions to check application of knowledge. Feedback is provided automatically once responses are submitted. All distant learning-independent courses provide easy access to instructors if needed. There is an option to interact with other course participants through sharing of insights or an optional peer discussion board (although not required).
Distance Learning—Interactive- eLearning courses involves required two way communication with instructors that may be in a synchronous or asynchronous format. For example, the instructor is actively engaged in the course and provides comments on required reflective questions, or leads as instructor‑moderated peer discussion board or provides individualized feedback on assignments.
Live: Course that is synchronous and takes place in a face-to-face format over Zoom. Press Here for policies covering live synchronous courses
Blended/Hybrid Courses - This includes a combination of Live sessions on zoom or break out groups with either of the above formats. It also includes courses that have both an independent learning component as well as required interactions with the instructor
