Overview of Certification Process: The certification process for the Multicontext Treatment Approach (MC Approach) described below provides an opportunity for practicing occupational therapists to acquire advanced and in-depth knowledge and expertise in theoretical foundations, assessment, and intervention principles used within the Multicontext Approach. The certified therapist will be proficient in performance analysis, manipulation of functional cognitive activity demands, and metacognitive strategy-based intervention methods including guided learning techniques within functional activities to promote self-awareness and generalization. Steps 1 and 2 are prerequisites for step 3 or certification. They can also be completed without intent to pursue step 3 (certification). Steps 2 and 3 below require access to the following book for readings and assignments “The Multicontext Approach to Cognitive Rehabilitation: A Metacognitive Strategy Intervention to Optimize Functional Cognition”. Quizzes or worksheet completion, passed with 79% accuracy, will need to be completed for Part 2 and a case presentation and analysis will need to be completed for certification or part 3. Comments From Certified Practitioners
This was a wonderful experience. I grew as a clinician and a person. I felt like I learned so many more new skills, assessments and tools than in any other CE I've taken in recent years. The support was expectational and made me feel confident in my abilities/skills to implement the MC Approach.
This certification process is so worth it and will immediately impact your clinical practice.
This course is one of the most comprehensive continuing education certifications I have ever completed. The feedback provided by peers and instructors is tremendous and extremely valuable. This course is for you if you are looking to really dive deep in the MC approach and can commit to the time required to complete all course components.
